Songbird is a Northern Thai restaurant with a menu designed to share.

In the north of Thailand, you’ll find less curries, coconut and seafood due to the region’s proximity to the ocean. Without the use of coconut to soften the heat as they do in the south, chilli is more prominent.

The menu focuses on BBQ meats, chilli, and acids developed through pickling and fermentation. These elements all combine to create a beautiful balance of sour, sweet, salty and heat.

DRINKS

Songbird is fully licensed with healthy selection of cocktails, lower-alcohol cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks. We have a Thai food-friendly, one-page wine list with several options to drink by the glass. Cold beers are available from the tap, bottle and can.

CORKAGE

If you’re keen to enjoy a special bottle from home, our corkage charge is the equivalent of the least expensive wine on our list that day.

DIETARY REQUIREMENTS

Feeding Kids

Whilst we encourage parents to bring the kids along, please be aware that there is no children’s menu. Parental discretion is advised as each dish is a powerfully-flavoured journey through the North of Thailand.

As Songbird is fast-paced and vibrant dining room, for their safety, we ask that children remain seated for the majority of the meal.

Coeliac / Dairy

The menu is almost exclusively gluten and dairy free.

Shellfish & seafood

Following traditional recipes, many of the dishes at Songbird include fish sauce as the main method of seasoning. There are dishes available for those with allergies, though please be aware, the options are extremely limited.

We do not recommend anyone with an anaphylactic allergy to seafood to dine at Songbird given it’s far-spread use in our kitchen and the high potential for cross-contamination.

Nut Allergies

We can easily avoid including nuts for those with allergies, though please be aware that nuts are present in the kitchen.

Alliums

Northern Thai cooking involves plenty of onion and garlic. We would not recommend Songbird to anyone with a fructose intolerance, or anyone following a strict FODMAP diet.
